Travelogue : Bohol | November 13, 2008
A late post of a travel last year. It was my first plane ride and I still can’t get over it.
First is always exciting, however, hours before our flight to Bohol, I was confined in the infirmary at work because I was having difficulty breathing due to hypertension. Why now? I don’t know how it happened. I may have got stressed by all the calls I had during my shift or lack of sleep. The nurse observed how I was in 30-minutes but have not gotten any progress. He then decided to get me the oxygen for another 30 minutes and checked my BP from time to time. When I didn’t show any change an hour after, he advised me that I might be rushed to the hospital. My mind panicked! I have a flight to catch after my shift that night. I packed all my stuffs and I was so excited to take my long vacation with a first-time airplane travel. This can’t be!
I know it’s gonna be impossible given the fact that I only have few hours left before the end of my shift. I prayed. I asked the nurse to give me another hour to just rest. I prayed again. An hour later, I showed improvement enough to rescind the ambulance to hospital but not sufficient to let me get discharged. So I insisted and assured the nurse, that if I feel the need to go back, I will. Good thing, the nurse agreed. I said to myself, I have been waiting for this first-time flight and I don’t wanna ruin it, especially, I’m with two friends to BOHOL escapade.
So off we go to the airport. Since all three of us live in the same apartment, finding a cab wouldn’t be strenuous. Yami and Mayie granted me the opportunity to do the check in once at the airport for me to experience the feel of traveling by plane, seated me by the window for me to relish the clouds that looked like cotton candies up in the sky and the exquisite view from above. I know it’s silly, but I was all smile and can’t get enough of the joy I had though I haven’t got any sleep yet coming straight from my night shift.
We were welcomed by the tour guide when we got off the plane and Yami and Mayie was laughing with me when they saw the A4 size banner with my name. I booked out hotel so my name is on the banner. Mind you? Hahahha. Again, first time is funny but happy.
First stop : Islan City Mall & BQ Mall where a guard reprimanded us that we can’t take pictures anywhere in the mall. Where in the world can you find a mall who doesn’t allow people to take pictures? It’s my first time hearing such rules. Tsk. Tsk. That’s why we only have few shots here.
After a quick side trip at the mall, we were dropped by our tour guide at the hotel to rest for tomorrow’s tour.
